Scott Miller, Amazon and Wall Street Journal best-selling author and Executive Vice President of Thought Leadership at FranklinCovey, will be a keynote speaker at the inaugural Emerging Leaders Summit on January 6, 2020.
The conference will be held Monday, January 6, 2020 at The Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City. The event is co-hosted by the Emerging Leaders Initiative of Utah (ELI) Utah—the state’s only nonpartisan organization dedicated to elevating the voices of younger generations in government—and Utah Media Group.
“Scott is a speaker whose message will empower millennials and Gen Z to transform their passion into success in becoming leaders and powerful voices in the civic engagement process,” said Kelsey Price, chair of ELI Utah. “He will provide insightful, practical tools and tips that our conference attendees can use to become more effective leaders in the office, community, and government.”
For the past 24 years, Miller has been an associate at FranklinCovey—a world leader in thought leadership and organizational behavior—where he has consulted with companies such as Coca-Cola, PayPal, and the Orlando Magic. His experience has enabled him to provide profound insights, stories, and tips to individuals and organizations to increase their leadership potential.
Miller is the author of the best-selling book Management Mess to Leadership Success: 30 Challenges to Become the Leader You Would Follow and new-release Everyone Deserves a Great Manager: The 6 Critical Practices for Leading a Team. Additionally, he is the host of multiple podcasts including FranklinCovey’s On Leadership and Great Life, Great Career. He is also the author of a weekly leadership column for Inc.com and is a frequent contributor for Thrive Global.
The inaugural Emerging Leaders Summit is the first-ever forum in the state designed to discuss policy issues that pertain to millennials—Utah's largest age demographic—and Gen Z. The summit will create an invaluable discussion on how young Utahns can shape Utah's political, cultural, and economic future. Miller joins a line-up of conference speakers that include Sen. Derek Kitchen, Salt Lake County Council Member Shireen Ghorbani, and national victims’ assistance advocate Elizabeth Smart, among others.
